Reporting to the Managing Director and working closely with the Operations Coordinator and Site Coordinator, the Festival Assistant is responsible for facilitating smooth operations of the top-of- the-hill Amphitheatre site.
PRIOR TO FESTIVAL
Assisting Management team relocate to Festival Site
Working with Outreach Assistant to complete Volunteer scheduling, training and recruitment
Assist the Development Coordinator and Managing Directed as needed
o Concession, Beer/Wine and Merchandise Coordination – coordinate preparation of tents each shift, working with volunteers to stock fridges, start popcorn, fill concession stations.
o Report to Operations Coordinator any inventory needs.
o Pick-up inventory needs as required.
o Secure inventory at the end of each show.
o Assist in maintaining flow and control of the sales tents while Site is open to the public.
o Maintain inventory records.
o Assist in move out after Festival
Work with Operations Coordinator to:
o Train volunteers in customer service and cash handling.
o Support and motivate volunteers in regards to the sales tents and delegate responsibilities appropriately.
o Log in Volunteers at beginning of shift
o Work with Site Coordinator to help manage external disruptions in the Park during performances.
o Provide supervisory assistance in relation to patron and volunteer safety during performances.
o Prepare for and assist in facilitation of possible emergencies or evacuations procedures.
o Assist Operations Coordinator with Volunteer Party
o Assist Special Events Assistant as needed
Hours of Work and Remuneration
The Operations Coordinator commences approximately full-time work four weeks prior to the festival at the Stanley Milner Library offices, the hours in the office are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. For the duration of the festival (June 21to July 17), hours are approximately 5:00 pm to 11:30 pm Tuesday to Friday, and noon to 11:30 pm (with a break between shows) on Saturdays &; Sundays. Scheduling outside of performances is based on inventory needs as required.
The weekly rate of pay is $500.00a week for a period of 8 weeks.

Basic level of understanding of live theatre and/or festivals
Comfortable handling cash and doing inventory reconciliation
