Dates May 29 – July 16, 2018

Reporting to the Managing Director and working closely with the Front of House Coordinator and Site Coordinator, the Festival Assistant is responsible for facilitating smooth operations of the top-of- the-hill Amphitheatre site.

Responsibilities include:


Assisting Management team relocate to Festival Site

Assist the Development Coordinator and Managing Director as needed


o Concession, Beer/Wine and Merchandise Coordination – coordinate preparation of tents each shift, working with volunteers to stock fridges, start popcorn, fill concession stations.

o Report to Front of House Coordinator any inventory needs.

o Pick-up inventory needs as required.

o Secure inventory at the end of each show.

o Assist in maintaining flow and control of the sales tents while Site is open to the public.

o Maintain inventory records.

o Assist in move out after Festival

Volunteer Management

Work with Front of House Coordinator to:

o Train volunteers in customer service and cash handling.

o Support and motivate volunteers in regards to the sales tents and delegate responsibilities appropriately.

o Log in Volunteers at beginning of shift


o Work with Site Coordinator to help manage external disruptions in the Park during performances.

o Prepare for and assist in facilitation of possible emergencies or evacuations procedures.

o Assist Front of House Coordinator with Volunteer Party

o Assist Special Events  as needed

Hours of Work and Remuneration

The Festival Assistant works for the first three weeks in our offices at 15230 128th Ave before moving to the Festival site, the hours in the office are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. Once the Festival begins the hours are approximately 5:00 pm to 11:30 pm Tuesday to Friday, and noon to 11:30 pm (with a break between shows) on Saturdays &; Sundays at the Heritage Amphitheatre in Hawrelak Park.

The weekly rate of pay is $544 a week.


 Strong time management and organizational skills

 Volunteer experience an asset

 Self-starter, motivated and able to work with minimal supervision

 Personable and confident communicator

 Flexible team player ready to contribute to other jobs as required

 Basic level of understanding of live theatre and/or festivals

 Comfortable handling cash and doing inventory reconciliation
